One of the biggest gripe in lost valley is the recipe. also, i'm not sure how weird it is going to be, i'm only going to do the research complex but i have already killed oreinitis. then only marin ving ask me to check out on the lost temple. i was able to open the underground ruins and discover the lost temple and clear everything of it. it feels kinda weird the quest design in lost valley. i already got the scepter and killed oreineitis. So i'm almost completing the lost valley. I hope in any upcoming future campaign they make crafting accessible and exciting. I like that the forge give you a bunch of recipes directly rather than books having said all of that, it's a small improvement. Then it's up to rng to have some other fun toys for the most part. So it is indeed a bit disappointing that you use "plain" +1 for the most parts with a few +2. It's a bit weird given that in the main campaign a lot of those were craftable in the mid game. ![]() This put you pretty much at the end of the game and dragonblade is also included in those final recipes, as well as other magic weapons doing +x dmg of a given type. the enemies in lost valley are quite tanky and it takes quite some effort to bring them down.As someone else said, you'll unfortunately only get this kind of recipes towards the end of the forge quest line. Originally posted by tm0Lif3:so no lightbringer 2-handed sword or dragonblade? kinda like the DLC so far but the no magic items really putting me down which i won't want a 2nd playthrough at all. Just make sure you take the feat that ignores 1/2 and 3/4 cover as soon as possible, as my rogue always seem to have a lot less to hit than my fighter or paladin, which is only made worse by my usual bad luck of not finding any decent longbow or heavy crossbows. My woof elf mowed down that mutant bulette from range with a nothing more than a +1 longbow, didn't even use poison I'm kinda lazy about those haha. ![]() ![]() Not too hard to keep them sneaking and getting sneak attacks. Throw in that char can use fireballs when you need them, and it can be a monster!įor really impressive burst I use a thug rogue. Don't forget to use shield of faith for that extra +2 ac and a lot of creatures only hit you on a crit. At level 8 he had +12 to hit, so he was rarely missing anything, and if surrounded became super tanky. In addition to the maul of the destroyer, I have mine a +1 shield and the +2 longsword from the hall of statues that adds 3d6 versus elementals and constructs. Consider buying those healing pendants from The People and having someone who can cast Aid and other defensive/control spells.Ī paladin of the motherland does quite a bit of burst for me due to their smite ability. You can avoid a difficult final fight, so don't feel too obsessed with stocking items up for a future hurdle.įights where you want to defend an NPC can be the most difficult because NPCs don't get death saves and are not optimized like your party members. Mithral stones are for sale but I couldn't find a recipe for them. +1 (half) plate is the best you'll be able to craft as far as I can tell (light armor doesn't count). There are recipes for a really good Maul and a really good Warhammer. Random encounters with certain fey creatures can drop very good loot. Good finesse weapons seem hard to find/craft. Just save often in case something you do angers a faction you weren't ready to be enemies with. Other factions have recipes and ingredients as well, with a few decent items sprinkled in, and you will find stuff in the process of doing quests for them. So I wouldn't plan on getting to Living Legend with the Rebellion. ![]() The only non-obvious way to get on the Forge's bad side that I found was to defend the Rebellion base from the Dominion (it doesn't matter if the Forge forms an alliance with the Rebellion, oddly). The Forge is also the Scavenger equivalent for this campaign. Some of the old favorites like Empress Garb and Punisher can only be acquired by doing all of the Forge's quests including The Renewal. The best faction for crafting and items in general is the Forge, which gives you a lot of recipes almost every time you complete a quest for them. My experience may be different from yours due to random loot, but the main idea is to do as many quests as possible without making the wrong enemies, like any non-linear RPG. Crafting is a lot more dicey in this campaign and I think it's arguably a flaw, but if you are very careful and a bit lucky you can craft far more than in CotM.
